STICKY Details of Galway Blogmeet

by scoobydoofus @ 24/06/2008 - 17:19:08

The post I did before is quite lengthy - here are the important bits:

Dates
Friday 22nd to Monday 25th August - the UK Bank Holiday weekend.

Flights
Fly to Galway, Shannon or Knock. Fly with Ryanair, Aer Arann, Aer Lingus, BMI Baby or Flybe.

Transport
You need to get a coach to Galway if you fly to Shannon. We might rent a minibus for transport - a contribution will be required if we do, but you'll be kept informed. We will divide the cost by the number of people, and allow a discount for those flying into Shannon.

Accommodation
Plenty of room at our house but hotel/hostel info is available if requested.

Read the other post for full details.

Sorry we won't be with that time you due to pre-arranged plans. Another time though I hope.

Yeah, you said when you were over here. It is a great shame! We'll just have to come and see you at Rancho Collapso some time!

You really must do that some time soon.

Fuckitty bollock wings with fries!

We will (judging by the boss woman above) be in Spain.

It's a dirty job, yadda yadda yadda.

Would really love to come just so you can see me NOT being as sick as a dog.

I am sure it will be a lot of fun. I am only slightly jealous.

Another time. You up for the annual meet on the 15th of November, though?

I will have to check with my "Social secretary" - I think we are on for one in Edinburgh.

Oh bollocks, that's what I was supposed to do tonight...

Maybe we'll see you in November?

We'll have a wee dram for you, anyway!

Hiiii sweetpeeeea.

Here are my flight options:

22nd - Manc to Shannon - arrive 16.50

Then either:

25th - Shannon to Manc (I know, the coincidence!) - depart 14:00, or

26th - depart 09:40...this one is also one of those 1p flights, although the 25th is only £20, so that's not really an issue.

So my quandry is:

25th: don't have to get up at stupid o'clock for a flight home (FYI - pre-9am = stupid o'clock), BUT trains back to Hull from Manchester may be an issue at that time. Can't stay with Row, family stuff.

26th: Will I get to Shannon for a 09:40 flight?

Of course there's always the 27th at 14:00. Or I could just never leave.

Don't want to stay too long and get annoying!

For a second there I was looking at July on my calendar, and was very confused. Anyway, as cheap as the Tuesday flight is, flying at 9:40 means getting at the airport for at least 8:40 which means leaving ours at at least 7:10, and that's if we drive you instead of dropping you in Galway to get the airport bus. Are you sure you could cope with that?

As for getting back from Manchester... hmm. I did a quick Google and trains from Manchester airport to Hull with First Transpennine seem to be every hour or so, takes about 2 1/2 hours with one change at Manchester Piccadilly.

It's not a problem if you want to stay the extra day, but it is a very early morning!

:))

Just let me know what you book. I just had confirmation of Meno's flight times! Yay!

7.10am you say |-|

25th it is.

I shall book. I will!

Hurrah!

At LEAST.

OK! Book it, quick!

If there's just you and Meno flying into Shannon, we might be able to come pick you up. If there's more, it'll have to be the coach to Galway I theeeenk.

MENO MENO MENO MENO SCREECH.

Booked :>>

I suppose we'd just better hope we get on in Birmingham, eh!

I'm easily hateable. I won't take it personally.

There will likely be a bouncy castle. We can fight it out on there.

*boing*

I can't jump, I'm dyspraxic.

You stand still, we'll all jump and launch you into the air.

We did this with my brothers' ex. She was teeny tiny, we called here MIMP - Mrs In My Pocket. She flew off the bouncy castle and seriously hurt her wrist.

Marvellous. You may call me BLIMP.

I get LIMP cos that's where MIMP came from - I knew a teeny tiny lesbian many moons ago - but what's the B?

Blimp.
